The Clintons Front & Center : Right where they belong

There has been considerable push back by so many in the media as well as from other Clinton haters regarding The Clinton's prominent role at the Democratic Convention. Toby Harnden writes in his op/ed on Real Clear Politics "Fueled by an unholy brew of victim-hood and entitlement, Clinton's supporters threaten to steal the show at the convention" and Joe Gandelman writes on The Moderate Voice "But what is certain is that the pro-Hillary rallies, the Bill Clinton speech (which is likely to praise his wife and detail his own legacy rather than passionately urge Demmies to vote for Obama), the Hillary Clinton speech, the introduction of Hillary Clinton by daughter Chelsea will dilute the usual impact of a convention. Modern political conventions are now the best chance for a candidate to control the image and delivery of that image. Now it’ll be Obama by 1/2." What continues to amaze me is how so many people want to conveniently ignore the facts as to why the Clintons are such a force on the National stage. Since entering public life the Clintons have continually grown in popularity and stature - they are loved, admired, and respected by millions and millions of people across the country and the world. So what do all of us millions and millions of Clinton supporters see that other's can't or won't? Well for starters, the Clinton Administration presided over an unprecedented eight years of economic growth and built and maintained positive working relationships with countries across the globe. As Hillary would famously ask during the campaign "To those who say they don't want to go back to the 90's I ask which is that you don't like the peace or the prosperity? - paraphrasing." Secondly, before being the only Democratic President elected twice since FDR, Bill Clinton was a highly successful multi-term Governor of Arkansas and now in his post Presidency has worked vigorously to expand availability of HIV drugs to Africa and other parts of the world; expand economic opportunities for individuals, families, and small businesses in the U.S. through the Clinton Economic Initiative; and help 40 of the world's largest cities reduce greenhouse gas emissions - to name a few. Hillary Clinton's public service includes fighting school boards to fully integrate; reforming Arkansas's education system; to leading the fight for for Universal Health Coverage. Not only have both been life long dedicated public servants but life long and dedicated Democrats (despite the betrayals of those like Richardson et al and the Dean/Brazile DNC). To top it all off Hillary ran, and kept running despite the efforts of so many to push her out of the race, a historic and groundbreaking campaign, garnering nearly 18 million votes. Traveling the country and making her case for the Presidency, her supporters and fan base, or those that just generally came to admire her, grew exponentially - the more people learned about the real Hillary the more they liked her. So in a world where we respect experience, past achievements, salute our successful party leaders, honor the historic Hillary Clinton for President campaign and her legion of supporters the spot light will be exactly where it belongs on two great American heroes - Hillary and Bill Clinton.

thank you Tim...posted this on JustSayNoDeal.com

I love reminders such as this -- of how tremendously dedicated both Clintons were/are to this country. I never understood how the Clinton camp allowed the media to script the 'bill is a liability' narrative...it drove me crazy -- but now, i feel they are regaining the respect they earned and deserve -- Sen. Obama is limping toward the convention floor as he sweats it out to reach the coronation @ Invesco -- and even with all that fanfare, Bill & Hill REIGN SUPREME!!

Well the people are finally going to see that they can't win with the HOLLOW TURTLE.Obama the the supreame leader , the one , is having quite a time trying to surpass the OLD WRINKLLY GUY.You still have to wonder , why is'nt he able to beat him by these double digits that the media wants to happen?I am a republican but don't like bomba.I saw first hand what the media was doing to you Hillary and it was not fair. The reason media did not ask Bomb the questions first in the primaries is that they to knew he was the HOLLOW TURTLE!Don't back down Hill stay in there and win this.TAKE THE NOMINATION AWAY FROM HIM!

Wonderful commentary. You said it all! The Reps were out to get Bill & Hill from the first day they stepped into the White House, and when you consider all that he accomplished while dealing with all of the personal attacks, investigations, the impeachment (omg don't get me started on that POS), et al, and STILL he was the most successful president of our time - and one of the greatest of all time. I respect them all the more for not just quitting, because that's what a lot of people would do. It made them stronger - more determined. And God bless Chelsea - she is the embodiment of what is great about both of them!

What amazes me is how some people do not admire the Clintons for their public contributions to the USA and to the worlds troubled, poor and vulnerable. Their achievements prove they are motivated by giving. It is so easy to water down achivements of others, yet each achievement is a personal commitment to a battle. I will find it tremendously difficult to ever see the Democratic Party in a favorable light. They stole our leader and it will be the American peoples loss. May the Clinton family be blessed and be sure in the knowledge that many of 'we the people' love them dearly.

100% yes to the article. And more news is the Obama bandwagon may have some loose wheels (it has too many wingnuts already) Politico reports that the super-delegates are not all Obama'a to count. Politico has it 271 Obama, 268 for Clinton, 160 undecided and the rest I'll assume are unwilling to say anything.

Will these super D's really nominate a candidate with such a thin resume and who is currently even or has a tiny lead over McCain? The south is pretty must lost to the Dems with BO as the nominee and the midwest is far from a lock.

If ANY delegate is reading this than please "cowboy up" and vote for Hillary at the roll call.

There are some angry Obomb supporters out there this morning , it must have to do with that utterly aweful faith interview last night at saddleback!Make a poll Hill vs mccain and you will see that she would win , keep the Bomb and fail.

She deserves the nomination as she is the strongest candidate to beat GOP.

The NY Times recently ran a story about Hillary's tepid support of Obama, this is unacceptable.
It is long past the time when you Hillary whining hens need to get off your ample asses and start to support Obama.
He won, you lost, GET OVER IT.

I really feel sorry for all of you hateful undercover racist. If you would take of your "hoods" I could debate you intelligently but instead you hide behind your supposed love of hillary and Obamas supposed lack of long term experience in Washington when you know thats really not the truth. If he was a white man or woman that beat out Hillary I doubt you would protest as much. I guess somethings never change cause the racial undertones and charactures I have seen on this website are hurtful to me as an american and I imagine to any African American. And the ones you supposedly seem to have on your side are so beat down by the system they suffer from a house slave mentality so convinced a black man could never win they just choose to fall in line with you crazy schemes. And I am convinced 100% that you all claiming to be democrats are really undercover republicans that are hoping to divide and conquer the democratic party. I mean your girl Hillary even stopped the roll call and called for his nomination by affirmation what more proof do you need of how idiotic this seems? And I am putting you guys on notice I am forwarding all your tactics to my blog groups and some of them have let me know they now you guys are republicans. I give it to you how better to topple the democratic party than to divide them up create false conflict and then offer to vote republican? You guys are a work of art. But you still need the Black vote NO MATTER WHO YOUR CANDIDATE MAY BE. And according to 2.5 million bloggers they will not support anyone PUMA supports. Just passing the word to you.

"what the real problem said..." I am leaving your comment up so people can see exactly what we have had to deal with. You really can't believe what wrote. The fact that Obama is mixed race is actually one of the things I like about him. So you are flat out wrong. Sorry.
